Summer exchange in China

Two CASS students have just returned to ANU campus after the exchange of a lifetime, spending 5 weeks at the International Summer School in China.

Bachelor of International Relations student Kate Barton and Bachelor of Arts student Alexia Fuller were selected for the program for their interest and previous study on China and the region.

The summer school is run by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, and took place in Tianjin University in China. NTU provided scholarships to cover the costs of the course.
ANU participation was made possible thanks to a new agreement signed by the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences and NTU College of the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences this year.

The summer school is only available to NTU students and select partner universities, including ANU.

As part of the program, the group took part in a study tour which included visiting various sites in Beijing.

Students also got the chance to experience NTU style learning through short interdisciplinary courses around ideas, sustainability leadership and comparative societies.

NTU is one of the top ranking universities in the region, and an important partner for the College in creating new international exchange opportunities for students.
